The development of Northpoint City in Yishun will include the 920-unit North Park Residences, a Community Club within a shopping mall and an air-conditioned bus interchange.
SINGAPORE: Frasers Centrepoint on Tuesday (Feb 17) announced it awarded the main contract for Northpoint City to Lum Chang Building Contractors, and works for the development in Yishun will begin on April 15.
The integrated development is expected to be completed by 2018, and will mark a landmark change for the mature estate – one of the earliest townships developed in the late 1970s, Frasers Centrepoint said in its press release.
Northpoint City was first unveiled last August, and will include the 920-unit North Point Residences, the largest retail mall in the North of Singapore with more than 500 outlets, as well as a Town Plaza. It will also feature an air-conditioned bus interchange and shopping underpass to Yishun MRT Station.
“The partnership between the (public sector) agencies and Frasers Centrepoint will create a new Nee Soon. The changes will be exciting. Residents and businesses can look forward to a greener landscape, said Foreign Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam, who is also MP for Nee Soon GRC. “There will be integration of community and healthcare facilities, transport infrastructure, as well as attractive lifestyle offerings.”
